Cell culture to Corporate culture

I believe individual health is deeply intertwined with the health of the broader community the individual belongs to.  This realization started during my laboratory work in mammalian tissue culture, where I witnessed the intricate connection between individual cellular health and the overall functioning of the entire cell culture population.  It turns out that happy healthy cells give off happy healthy signals to the cells around them. In turn keeping the population in the flask thiving until we needed to split them, becuase over crowing is never good!

It wasn’t until I became a manager in Corporate America, that I realized by supporting the health and well-being of individuals, we can actually create a positive ripple effect that reverberates throughout an entire community (i.e team), contributing to the betterment of the whole.

Early in my career, my focus was on improving R&D laboratory operations to enhance efficiency, while upholding quality standards. My goal was to ensure that groundbreaking scientific research translated into tangible benefits for patients, in a timely manner. I recognized that to gain the full  value of R&D, benefits must reach and positively impact those who need it most.

Through collaborations with global partners, I gained invaluable insights into leveraging technology and innovation to improve healthcare operations on a grand scale. Working closely with nurses, pharmacists, and physicians during the implementation of electronic health records, and medication management software, further underscored the importance of bridging gaps between people and technology for the greater good.

These experiences exposed me to the world of software product development and business operations, where I successfully led teams in the delivery of innovative software solutions in the fields of health, wellness, precision diagnostics, and radiology.

Anytime I am collaborating with diverse, multi-functional teams to nurture ideas into reality, I imagine us as cells in that flask. Anytime I am problem-solving, mentoring, and motivating others to achieve success, which are aspects of my work that I deeply enjoy, I imagine sending those good signals out to the rest of the team.

Often we talk about the importance of good Corporate culture, but rarely do we reflect on how impactful each of us is in creating it around us.
